Electrum‑LTC provides a lightweight client for managing Litecoin funds without downloading the full blockchain. It connects to remote servers that store the blockchain data, while all transaction verification is performed locally using Simplified Payment Verification. The wallet stores a seed phrase that can be kept offline, ensuring that private keys never leave the user’s device.

The software is available for Windows, macOS (10.13 and higher) and Linux, distributed as standalone executables, installers, AppImage and source tarballs. Digital signatures are provided for each package, and users are advised to verify them and to obtain updates only from the official electrum‑ltc.org site. Older versions are blocked from public servers due to a known phishing vulnerability, and users are prompted to upgrade.
