Energia
Electronics prototyping platform
Energia is an open‑source prototyping platform that brings the Wiring and Arduino programming model to Texas Instruments LaunchPad boards, including MSP430, MSP432x, TM4C, C2000, CC32xx and CC13xx families. It provides a cross‑platform integrated development environment built on the Processing IDE and uses the mspgcc compiler, allowing users to write, compile and upload code to the microcontroller from macOS, Windows or Linux.
The IDE includes libraries and examples for handling digital and analog inputs, controlling lights, motors and other actuators, and optionally adding wireless modules such as Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth or Zigbee. Projects can run autonomously on the LaunchPad or communicate with a host PC, supporting a range of interactive hardware applications.
Energia targets students, makers, professional engineers and entrepreneurs who need a simple, code‑first workflow for developing embedded systems on TI’s low‑cost LaunchPad hardware. It also offers a portable abstraction layer that can be integrated into other IDEs, including TI’s CCS Cloud and desktop environments.
