Genealogy

Genealogy is a free, open‑source PHP application built with Laravel 12 that lets users record individuals, their biological parents, partners, children and siblings, and visualise these connections as a family tree. The data model supports single fathers, mothers, couples, multiple partners, remarriages and both married and separated relationships, allowing complex genealogical structures to be captured accurately.

The system is designed for self‑hosting and runs without a subscription, using the TallStack of Laravel Jetstream, Livewire, Alpine.js, Tailwind CSS, TallStackUI and Filament’s table builder for the interface. Access is managed through roles such as administrator, manager, editor and member, enabling multiple users to collaborate on separate family trees within the same installation.

A public demo showcases two example trees—British Royals and Kennedy—illustrating how the application handles permissions, team ownership and user management while remaining fully MIT‑licensed and stable for production use.
