Heimdall
Elegant solution to organise all your web applications.
Heimdall Application Dashboard provides a self‑hosted web page where users can collect and launch links to their web applications, services, or any URLs they choose. It presents each entry as a tile with an icon and background colour, and can function as a browser start page with an optional search bar powered by Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo. The interface is designed to be simple and visually clean, avoiding embedded iframes or complex API abstractions.
The dashboard distinguishes three types of entries. Generic items let users manually specify a name, colour, icon and URL. Foundation apps are recognized from a built‑in list; typing the app name auto‑fills the appropriate icon and colour. Enhanced apps extend this by allowing API credentials so that live data such as queue size or download speed can be displayed directly on the tile.
Heimdall is distributed under the MIT license, requires PHP ≥ 8.1 and Laravel 10 dependencies, and can be deployed via Docker or a standard web server. It is maintained by the linuxserver.io community, offers a free tier with no subscription, and targets users who want an elegant, self‑controlled way to organise their web‑based tools.
