IconChanger
Change your app's icon
IconChanger is a macOS‑only utility that lets users replace the visual icons of their installed applications. After downloading the binary from the project's GitHub releases and placing it in the Applications folder, the app provides a straightforward interface for selecting an app and assigning a new icon file. For apps that do not initially display an icon, the tool advises creating an alias name via the Finder’s context menu, enabling the icon change to take effect.
The software also supports optional integration with an external icon catalog. Users can retrieve a query API host by inspecting network requests on macosicons.com, then entering that host in IconChanger’s settings to browse and apply icons from the online repository directly within the app.
IconChanger cannot modify system‑level applications because macOS’s System Integrity Protection prevents writes to their bundles, and the required modification of the Info.plist is not feasible. The project is open source, built with Xcode 13.3 or newer, and welcomes contributions via standard fork‑and‑pull‑request workflow.
