LangSwitcher

LangSwitcher is a macOS utility that converts text typed with the wrong keyboard layout into the intended language. Users select the mistyped text—or rely on smart conversion that auto‑detects the erroneous segment—and press a configurable hotkey (double Shift by default) to replace it with the correctly mapped characters. The conversion works by translating physical key positions between installed system layouts, preserving punctuation and supporting English, Russian, German, French, and Spanish.

The tool runs as a menu‑bar app and offers several conversion modes: greedy line, last word, or disabled (requiring explicit selection). An optional local SQLite log records conversions for review or export, while privacy‑first defaults keep data on the machine with no network activity. Implemented in pure Swift without external dependencies, LangSwitcher is distributed as a universal DMG for Intel and Apple Silicon and is MIT‑licensed, inviting community contributions.
