LazPaint
Image editor written in Lazarus
LazPaint is a cross‑platform image editor built with the Lazarus IDE and Free Pascal, using the BGRABitmap library for graphics handling. It supports both raster and vector layers, allowing users to create and edit images with a range of drawing tools, selection masks, and layer effects. The program can read and write many file formats, including layered bitmaps and 3D files, and offers command‑line access for scripting or automation.
The interface presents a toolbox, color window, and layer stack, with zoom controls and keyboard shortcuts that streamline common actions such as moving, rotating, or erasing elements. Selections can be antialiased, and the editor maintains an undo/redo history of up to 200 operations, enabling iterative refinement without loss of work.
LazPaint runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD, and Raspberry Pi, and can be packaged as a portable application. Its source code is available for modification, and it is distributed through standard Linux repositories as well as direct downloads.
