Mailcow
Mail server suite based on Dovecot, Postfix and other open source software, that provides a modern Web UI for administration.
The suite combines Dovecot, Postfix and other open‑source components into a self‑hosted mail server that is distributed as Docker containers. It supplies a modern web interface for managing domains, mailboxes, aliases and related settings, while the underlying services handle IMAP, SMTP and spam filtering. The package is released under GPL‑3.0, requires no subscription, and can be deployed on‑premises with a free tier.
It targets administrators and organizations that want full control over their email infrastructure without relying on external providers. The Docker‑based deployment simplifies installation and updates, and the web UI abstracts the complexity of the individual mail services. Regular releases add features such as two‑factor authentication, DNS‑01 challenges, SOGo integration, and Rspamd updates, while security patches are provided promptly.
The project is maintained by The Infrastructure Company GmbH and supported by a community that contributes via GitHub, a forum, and chat channels. Documentation, upgrade guides and support contacts are available through the official site.
