OpenUsage

AI usage tracker for Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Copilot and more

Visit

OpenUsage aggregates token‑usage data from a range of AI coding assistants—including Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Copilot and many others—into a single view on macOS. It runs as a menu‑bar application and periodically queries each provider’s usage API, exposing the current session, daily and weekly consumption alongside reset times. The information is also available through a local HTTP endpoint, allowing scripts or editor extensions to read the data without additional authentication.

The tool is built around a plugin architecture; each AI service is represented by an open‑source plugin that can be added or omitted according to the user’s workflow. Because the plugins are community maintained, new providers can be integrated without changing the core application. Updates are delivered automatically, and the software is released under an open‑source license.

OpenUsage targets developers who rely on multiple AI coding assistants and need to avoid unexpected quota exhaustion. By presenting usage metrics in a persistent, glanceable format, it helps users monitor their consumption, plan refills, and keep track of spending across different subscriptions.
