PixelHush

PixelHush automatically hides tokens, API keys and passwords in your code editor the moment screen recording or sharing starts.

Visit

PixelHush runs a background agent that watches for the start of any screen‑recording or screen‑sharing session and automatically blurs or hides strings that match known patterns for tokens, API keys and passwords in supported code editors. When a recording or sharing event is detected, the agent masks the secret data in real time, preventing it from appearing in tutorials, demos, or live calls. The tool also includes a browser extension that applies the same masking to secrets visible in web pages.

The software is aimed at developers who regularly demonstrate code or discuss projects on screen and need to protect credentials from accidental exposure. It integrates with popular editors such as VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf and Antigravity, and works with any screen‑recording or sharing application, including Zoom, Teams and Slack. A Chrome extension extends protection to browser tabs, and the system recognizes secret patterns from more than 150 API providers, covering services like AWS, Stripe, OpenAI and Firebase.

PixelHush is distributed as a macOS application that can be installed via a script or DMG, and it requires the user to enable the feature through a keyboard shortcut or the extension’s popup. The solution operates silently once activated, providing automatic, zero‑effort privacy for developers during screen‑sharing activities.
