Prowlarr

Prowlarr functions as a centralized manager and proxy for indexers used by various personal video recorder (PVR) applications. It provides a web interface where users can add, configure, and monitor multiple indexer sources, allowing the connected PVR tools to retrieve content through a single point of access. The service runs as a background process and exposes a local HTTP API on port 9696, which PVR clients query for search results and metadata.

The software targets users who run self‑hosted media automation stacks and need a unified way to handle different torrent or us indexers without configuring each PVR client individually. It supports a range of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, macOS, NAS devices, Docker containers, and BSD, and can be installed via package managers, downloadable archives, or manual setup.
