radio-active

Internet radio player with 40k+ stations.

The program provides a command‑line interface for streaming internet radio, offering access to over 40 000 stations. Users can browse stations by genre, language, or proximity, and the tool can retrieve real‑time track information and perform Shazam‑style identification of currently playing songs. It also supports recording live streams on demand, scheduling recordings, and setting a sleep timer or pomodoro mode.

Designed for simplicity, the interface presents a minimal, menu‑driven layout that works out of the box without extensive configuration. Users can mark stations as favorites, view recent history, and even trigger a random “I’m feeling lucky” selection. The application integrates with external players such as VLC and MPV and runs on modest hardware, including Raspberry Pi devices.

Additional features include user‑added station support, a default configuration file, result limiting, and a selection menu for favorite stations. The project is stable, available via CLI, and includes documentation and a wiki for developers.
