RenameClick

RenameClick is a desktop application for macOS and Windows that lets users rename, organize, and search files based on their actual content and metadata rather than existing filenames. It supports common image formats such as JPG, PNG, HEIC, and document types including PDF, DOCX, and TXT. Users can drop files into the app, review AI‑generated names and categories, and apply the changes manually or via an automatic workflow that monitors folders for new items.

The software runs locally, using an on‑device language model that requires roughly 4 GB of disk space and RAM, with optional GPU acceleration for faster processing. It can operate with built‑in models or with user‑provided API keys from providers such as Ollama, LM Studio, OpenAI, Google AI, and Alibaba Cloud. All processing is performed offline, ensuring privacy and eliminating the need for cloud uploads.

RenameClick offers a free tier with limited monthly credits and a Pro tier that removes those limits, providing unlimited renames, AI search, and the Auto Flow feature. Documentation covers workspaces, custom instructions, format patterns, categories, and provider configuration.
