Saga Reader

Saga Reader is a cross‑platform application built with Rust, Tauri and Svelte that fetches web pages and RSS feeds based on user‑defined keywords. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, including older hardware, and stores all data locally, avoiding reliance on external services. The tool can use cloud‑based or locally hosted large language models to summarize retrieved content and provide contextual guidance.

The reader offers an AI‑driven interactive companion that lets users ask questions and discuss the material in real time, turning passive consumption into a conversational experience. It also includes automatic translation of foreign‑language articles into the user’s preferred language, removing language barriers.

Key capabilities include flexible subscription to topics via keywords, automated search and RSS retrieval, and a lightweight, fast execution model that keeps the application responsive while handling large volumes of internet content.
