SpaceId
Menu bar indicator showing the currently selected space
SpaceId adds a small indicator to the macOS menu bar that displays the number of the currently active Space (virtual desktop). The icon updates automatically as the user switches between Spaces, allowing quick visual confirmation of which desktop is in focus without opening the Mission Control view. Installation is available via Homebrew Cask or by downloading a pre‑built release from the project's GitHub page.
The utility is targeted at macOS users who work with multiple Spaces and want a lightweight, always‑visible cue of their current context. It runs as a background application and integrates directly with the system menu bar, requiring no additional configuration beyond installation. The visual design follows the style of the original WhichSpace project, and the icon is provided under a Creative Commons license. SpaceId is marked as stable and is distributed as a core macOS component.
