Spatial is a macOS‑only command‑line utility for handling MV‑HEVC video files and spatial photos generated by recent Apple devices such as iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro and Apple Vision Pro. It can read these files, extract spatial metadata, and convert them to conventional stereoscopic formats—including over/under, side‑by‑side, or separate left‑ and right‑eye streams—compatible with typical 3D players and video editors.

The tool also performs the reverse operation, creating MV‑HEVC spatial videos or photos from existing stereoscopic inputs, and it can mux encoded audio tracks with MV‑HEVC video. Additional commands allow users to view or edit spatial metadata and to combine separate audio and video streams into a single file. All functionality relies on Apple frameworks, requiring macOS Sonoma (14.0) or later and an Apple‑silicon Mac, though metadata inspection works on Intel Macs as well.

Spatial is distributed as a Homebrew package or a downloadable zip archive, and it includes a sample MV‑HEVC file for testing. A graphical front‑end is available from a third‑party developer for users who prefer a UI over the command line.
