Ubooquity

Free to use, versatile, lightweight, multi-platform, and secure home server for your comic and e-book library.

Visit

Ubooquity is a self‑hosted server that lets users store and stream their comic books and e‑books from a single library. It serves files over the network, allowing access from tablets, e‑readers, phones, or computers, and supports common formats such as ePUB, CBZ, CBR and PDF. The application can also import metadata from external library managers like Calibre and ComicRack, preserving titles, covers and other details.

The software runs on any operating system that supports Java, including Windows, Linux and macOS, and can be deployed on a wide range of hardware from desktop PCs to NAS devices. Its lightweight design keeps resource usage low, making it suitable for modest home servers. User accounts and folder‑level permissions provide basic security, and HTTPS connections can be enabled with a custom certificate.

Ubooquity is offered without a subscription or tiered pricing, and the current version is marked as stable. The license is proprietary, but the program is free to download and use for personal comic management.
