vAmiga

Amiga 500, 1000, 2000 emulator

Visit

vAmiga emulates the Commodore Amiga 500, 1000 and 2000 series on macOS, providing a desktop environment that runs classic Amiga software. The emulator requires a Kickstart ROM, which can be supplied legally by purchasing an Amiga Forever license, and ROM images can be added by drag‑and‑drop. It supports keyboard‑emulated joysticks, USB gamepads such as the Speedlink Competition Pro SL‑6602, and the RetroFun! USB adapter for original Commodore controllers.

The project, started in early 2019, is maintained as a stable macOS core and is released under the GNU General Public License. Source code, issue tracking, and documentation are hosted on GitHub, where bug reports are encouraged. The emulator focuses on compatibility and usability, aiming to reproduce the original hardware experience as closely as possible.

A WebAssembly variant, vAmigaWeb, runs in browsers and as a progressive web app, allowing the same emulation to be accessed on mobile devices or embedded in web pages. This web port is developed independently but shares the core emulation logic.
