Virtual ][

Virtual ][ emulates several Apple II models—including ][, ][+, //e, and //c—directly on macOS 12.0 or newer, running natively on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It loads popular disk image formats such as dsk, 2mg, and woz, allowing users to run classic software and games without original hardware. The emulator supports USB or Bluetooth gamepads and joysticks, offers full‑screen mode, and can adjust emulation speed for accurate or accelerated playback.

The software includes peripheral emulation for Epson FX‑80 and Imagewriter II printers, with printed output saved as PDF files, and provides virtual machine snapshots that can be saved and restored later. Users can index disk images for Spotlight search, configure virtual cards like mouse, hard disk, serial port, Mockingboard sound, Z80 for CP/M, and even cassette tape, and debug Apple II programs through an integrated inspector.

Additional utilities enable conversion of physical Apple II diskettes to Mac images via a serial interface cable, and the Finder displays miniature previews of saved screens. The application is offered as a free evaluation with an optional license for full access.
