VueScan

VueScan is a scanning application that replaces the original software supplied with a scanner. It provides built‑in drivers for flatbed, document, and film/slide scanners, allowing the device to operate on macOS, Windows, and Linux without requiring the manufacturer’s driver. The program includes a driver database that covers more than 8,000 models from 42 manufacturers, including many older units whose official support has ended.

The software is aimed at users who own legacy scanners that no longer work with current operating systems, as well as those who need a unified solution across multiple platforms. By reverse‑engineering scanner interfaces, VueScan enables continued use of existing hardware for photo, document, and film digitization.
