ComicTagger
Metadata editor for digital comics
A cross‑platform desktop application written in Python and PyQt that writes and edits metadata for digital comic files. It can retrieve issue information from Comic Vine and supports automatic matching of comics using image‑processing techniques. The GUI allows batch tagging of large collections, and a command‑line interface enables scripting and bulk operations.
The tool works natively with CBZ files and can read CBR files when external RAR utilities are installed; it also handles ComicRack and ComicBookLover tagging formats. Additional optional dependencies provide support for CBR/RAR, 7Z, and improved Unicode handling.
It is distributed as pre‑built binaries for macOS, Windows, and Linux, as well as a pip package with optional components for GUI, CBR, and archive support. The project is maintained as a stable, open‑source utility for users who need to organize and tag digital comic libraries.
