Easydict

The application provides a lightweight, macOS‑native interface for looking up words and translating text. It detects the input language automatically and offers several ways to supply content, including typing, selecting text with the mouse, and performing OCR on screenshots, both visible and silent. Results can be drawn from the built‑in Apple Dictionary and System Translation as well as a wide range of online services such as DeepL, Google, OpenAI, Gemini, and many others, covering more than 48 languages.

Users can trigger lookups with shortcut keys, hear pronunciations through multiple text‑to‑speech voices, and view parallel results from several translation providers simultaneously. The app is ready to use immediately after installation and does not require additional configuration.

The project is open source, maintained in a stable release branch, and welcomes contributions through its GitHub repository. Development follows a dev‑main workflow, and the README includes guidelines for AI‑assisted coding and automatic commit message generation.
