OpenAI Translator

The software provides AI‑driven translation, text polishing, and summarization across 55 languages. Users can input text, select a mode, and receive results in a streaming fashion, with one‑click copying and optional text‑to‑speech output. It also supports translating text extracted from screenshots, managing vocabulary lists, and generating memory aids for stored words.

It is available as a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox and as a desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The same codebase powers both environments, allowing the same features—translation, polishing, summarization, TTS, and screenshot handling—to be used on any platform. Users can configure the service to call OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, MiniMax, or other LLM providers, and an OpenAI API key (or proxy) is required for operation.

The project is open‑source, released under the MIT License, and distributed as a free‑tier stable release. It includes TypeScript and Rust components, and installation is performed by downloading the appropriate installer for the target OS.
