Eonvelope

Eonvelope is a self‑hosted, open‑source email archiving system that stores messages, attachments and correspondence for indefinite periods. It connects to mail services via IMAP, POP, Microsoft Exchange and JMAP, allowing automatic archiving of whole accounts or individual folders, as well as manual fetching. The web interface, which works as a progressive web app, provides dashboards, detailed email views, and filters to search by attributes such as sender, subject or attachment content.

The software is packaged as a minimal Docker stack of two containers, includes HTTPS and multi‑factor authentication by default, and can be configured through environment variables or an in‑app admin panel. It offers import and export of emails in multiple formats and can restore archived items back to the original mailbox. Integration hooks are provided for other self‑hosted tools like Paperless‑ngx, and the codebase is written in Python and HTML with extensive testing and linting.

Eonvelope targets users who need long‑term preservation of email data without relying on external services, as well as administrators who want a lightweight, secure, and easily maintainable solution. The project is released under the AGPL‑3.0 license, offers a free tier, and emphasizes community contributions and multilingual support.
