Free Ruler
Horizontal and vertical rulers
The application provides on‑screen horizontal and vertical rulers for macOS, allowing users to measure distances in pixels, inches, or millimeters. Rulers can be floated above other windows and positioned independently or as a group, with keyboard shortcuts to toggle visibility, grouping, and a shadow effect. An origin point can be set at the mouse location, and all ruler positions can be reset with a command shortcut.
It is intended for anyone who needs quick visual measurement while working on the desktop, such as designers, developers, or anyone handling layout tasks. The tool runs on macOS versions including Sonoma, Ventura, Catalina, Mojave, and older releases.
The software is distributed as a stable macOS binary, with source code hosted on GitHub. Contributions are encouraged from developers familiar with Swift, and users can report issues or request features through the project's issue tracker.
