Hive-Pal

Mobile-first beekeeping management app for tracking hives, inspections, queen records, and equipment with streamlined data entry optimized for field use.

Hive Pal provides a web‑based system for beekeepers to record and organise information about apiaries, individual hives, and related equipment. Users can create multiple apiary locations, log routine inspections with observations and actions, and maintain detailed queen lineage and replacement histories. The interface is designed for mobile use, allowing field workers to enter data quickly while also supporting desktop access.

The application runs as a self‑hosted service built with a React frontend and a NestJS backend, storing data in PostgreSQL via Prisma. It is distributed as Docker images and can be deployed with Docker Compose, offering optional configuration for local or S3‑compatible file storage and email notifications through SMTP. Development tooling includes TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Zustand, React Query, and a suite of automated tests.

Hive Pal is released under the MIT license, requires no subscription, and is positioned as a free, open‑source utility for beekeeping management. It targets beekeepers who need a structured, mobile‑first way to track hive health, inspections, and harvests without relying on proprietary platforms.
