IpePresenter
Make presentations from PDFs
IpePresenter is a macOS‑focused application that displays PDF‑based slide decks. It opens two windows: one can be moved to an external monitor and shown fullscreen for the audience, while the presenter’s window shows the current slide, the next slide, any page notes embedded in the PDF, and a running timer. Because it works directly with the PDF file, no LaTeX compilation or additional presentation software is required at runtime, and the program can be run from a USB stick on a host computer without installation.
The tool supports PDFs generated with the Ipe editor or with LaTeX beamer, and it can display notes added via the pdfcomment package. Notes appear automatically on the presenter’s screen, and users can add them to beamer slides by defining a custom command in the document preamble. Compatibility is limited to PDFs that conform to IpePresenter’s own interpreter; other PDF generators may cause display issues.
IpePresenter is distributed as binary packages for Windows, macOS (Intel and Apple silicon), and various Linux distributions, as well as source code that can be compiled on recent Unix systems. The current stable release is version 7.2.29.
