PongSaver

PongSaver is a macOS screensaver that continuously runs a simulated game of Pong. The two paddles are controlled by the program, each moving automatically to hit the ball, so the match proceeds without user input. In addition to the visual game, the current score is repurposed to display the time; the paddles’ behavior is adjusted so that the score changes in sync with the hour and minute values, effectively turning the game into a clock.

The software is intended for macOS users who want a dynamic, visually engaging screensaver that also provides a functional time display. It runs on macOS 10.6 and later for Intel‑based Macs, with a newer build supporting macOS 15 and newer.

PongSaver is distributed as a standalone screensaver module, available for download from the developer’s site. It is released under an open‑source license and has been maintained in a stable state since its original creation.
