Fruit Screensaver
Screensaver of the vintage Apple logo
The screensaver renders the classic Apple logo using Swift’s NSBezierPath and mask techniques, providing a visual tribute to the vintage fruit icon. It runs on macOS 11.5 and newer, and includes support for high‑density Retina displays. Users can choose among four visual styles—rainbow, solid, linear gradient, and circular gradient—through the System Settings options panel.
Installation is offered via Homebrew Cask or a direct download of the Fruit.saver bundle, with instructions for manual installation and source‑code building. The project includes troubleshooting guidance for black‑screen issues and system quarantine warnings, and it references contributions that resolved compatibility problems on macOS Sonoma.
The software is released under the MIT license, and while the logo and original animations remain Apple’s property, the implementation code is open source and may be extended through pull requests.
