Schism Tracker

Schism Tracker is a free, open‑source reimplementation of the classic Impulse Tracker, providing a sample‑based music composition environment that reproduces the original’s distinctive workflow without needing specialized hardware. It uses a heavily modified Modplug engine with numerous bug fixes to improve playback fidelity, and it supports the same module formats that Impulse Tracker handled.

The program runs on any platform supported by SDL 2, with stable builds for Linux, macOS, and Windows, and it can be compiled on a wide range of architectures using GCC 4. Development focuses on 64‑bit Linux, but the codebase is portable to other systems, though performance may vary.
