Tamari

Recipe manager web app with a built-in collection of recipes. Organize by favorites and categories, create shopping lists, and plan meals.

Tamari is a web‑based recipe manager built with Python and Flask that lets individuals store, search, and share personal recipes. Users create accounts, log in with email and password, and can keep recipes private or make them public via a shareable URL. Each recipe can include title, category, description, time, servings, nutrition, ingredients, instructions, and a photo, with real‑time search and the ability to mark ingredients as completed while cooking.

The application offers organization tools such as favorites, categorization, and a meal planner that schedules dishes up to 30 days ahead. Shopping lists can be generated from recipe ingredients, organized per store, and items can be checked off or added by scanning barcodes. A built‑in “Explore” feature provides access to a curated collection of over 100 000 recipes from dozens of websites, allowing one‑click import into a personal collection.

Tamari is self‑hostable via Docker or manual installation, supports a REST API for programmatic access, and includes customizable UI options like themes, accent colors, and photo display size. It is released under GPL‑3.0, free to use, and does not require a subscription.
