Tandoor Recipes

Tandoor Recipes is a Django‑based web application for storing, organizing, and retrieving digital recipes. It lets users create and edit recipes, attach tags, and import data from websites that provide structured recipe markup. Files such as PDFs or images can be kept in the built‑in database or linked from external storage services like Dropbox or Nextcloud, and the system supports meal planning, shopping‑list generation, and the creation of printable cookbooks.

The software targets individuals or small groups who maintain personal recipe collections and want collaborative features such as shared editing and permission controls. Its search engine uses full‑text indexing and trigram similarity for flexible queries, while bulk operations simplify merging or renaming ingredients, tags, and units. Mobile‑friendly responsive design and multilingual support make it usable on a range of devices.

Installation is streamlined through Docker images, with example configurations for Kubernetes, Unraid, and Synology. The interface can be themed, and optional AI helpers can extract nutrition data or organize image content. Tandoor Recipes is released under the MIT license, is self‑hostable, and is maintained as a free, open‑source project.
