Lockpaw
Menu bar screen guard for macOS — lock and unlock your screen with a hotkey.
Lockpaw provides a menu‑bar utility for macOS that instantly covers the screen and blocks input while keeping the system fully awake. Pressing the configured hotkey (⌘⇧L) locks the display without putting the computer to sleep, allowing background processes such as AI agents, builds, downloads, or SSH sessions to continue uninterrupted. The lock screen can be dismissed with Touch ID or a password, and the app resides natively in the menu bar without using Electron.
The tool is targeted at users who need a quick way to conceal their workstation while preserving active tasks, such as developers, data scientists, or anyone running long‑duration jobs on a Mac. It offers a single‑key workflow that replaces the combination of separate utilities for preventing sleep, covering the screen, and handling input blocking.
Lockpaw is open‑source, free to use, and runs on macOS 14 or later. It does not transmit data, collect analytics, or require accounts, and it is distributed as a lightweight 3.4 MB cask installable via Homebrew.
