GitFinder integrates Git status directly into macOS Finder, displaying descriptive icon badges that indicate the state of each file. Users can access common Git actions through customizable contextual and toolbar menus without leaving the Finder window, enabling quick staging, unstaging, committing, and viewing diffs.

The application also offers a dedicated repository browser where local and remote branches, tags, and submodules are listed, and a range of operations such as checkout, cherry‑pick, rebase, and stash management can be performed. Additional tools include file‑level history, blame views, and a merge‑conflict resolver that works with an external merge tool of the user’s choice.

GitFinder supports interaction with pull requests on hosted remote services directly from the client, and all functions are accessible via mouse clicks or fully configurable keyboard shortcuts, with an on‑screen cheat sheet for reference. It is positioned as a fast, lightweight Git client for macOS 10.11.5 and newer.
